Abimbola (Abi)

Abimbola (Abi) Ogunleye-Kolawole, DNP is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She began her career in healthcare in 1998, when she earned her license in Practical Nursing. She continued to complete her Associate Degree of Science in Nursing from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 from the College of Staten Island in New York.

In 2007, she earned her Master of Science from Long Island University. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2016 from Chatham University in Pittsburg. Her doctoral capstone project was implemented at Duke Cardiology in Lumberton, North Carolina. Her research project helped improve heart failure patients’ quality of life by decreasing their hospital readmission rates.

Clinical Experience

Dr. Kolawole is also certified by the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses. She has strong and diverse clinical experience in providing healthcare services across all ages. Her experience includes pediatric and adult primary care, acute care, primary cardiology, heart failure, cardiac intensive care, chronic disease management, along with cognitive and developmental disabilities.

She held an Adjunct Faculty position at Grand Canyon University, where she taught Public Health to doctoral students. She provides high-quality, evidence-based, compassionate care to all of her patients. She is married with three boys.

When she is not working, she is actively involved in the Fayetteville Church and the community. She enjoys volunteering at the Mary’s Closet and Martha’s Table as well as the Care Clinic. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading.
